What counts as a credentialed customer?

A credentialed customer is any BigCommerce customer who has set a password through Simple MFA — either by claiming their account via the magic link on first login, or by being enrolled directly in the admin panel.

We count customers who were active (had a valid credential) in the previous calendar month. Customers who have never signed in through Simple MFA are not counted, regardless of how many are in your BigCommerce account.

How does Standard plan billing work in practice?

The first 200 credentialed customers are always free. Above that, you're billed $12 per 100 customers per month (or part thereof).

For example: 350 customers = $12/month. 500 customers = $24/month. 950 customers = $84/month.

Is there an annual billing discount?

Yes — Standard plan customers on annual billing receive a 10% discount, applied to the full year at the time of renewal.

What happens if I exceed 200 customers on the Free plan?

Existing credentialed customers can continue to log in without disruption. New customers attempting to claim their account for the first time will be held in a queue. You'll receive a notification and can upgrade to Standard at any time to release the queue immediately.

What payment methods are accepted?

Billing is handled via Stripe. All major credit and debit cards are accepted. Invoice billing is available on Enterprise plans.

Can I switch plans or cancel at any time?

Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from the Simple MFA admin panel at any time. If you downgrade to Free and have more than 200 credentialed customers, existing customers continue to be able to log in, but new account claims will be paused until you're back within the free tier.

What happens to customer data if I uninstall?

All Simple MFA credential data is deleted within 30 days of uninstalling the app. Your BigCommerce customer accounts are not affected — only the Simple MFA-specific data is removed. Customers will return to BigCommerce's native login after uninstall.
